Hello, awesome paranormal and urban fantasy fans!
For those who don’t know me, I’m Cecy Robson. My career began at Penguin with the mass-market release of my urban fantasy romance series, Weird Girls, based on four unique sisters who are different from any species of were, witch, and vampire on Earth…and what happens to them when the supernatural world becomes aware of who they are and what they can do.
My love for the paranormal continues with the first novel in my Death Seeker series, UNEARTHED, releasing September 24th in ebook and in print.
Since I was a small child, I always loved Irish lore and legend. When I began to develop ideas for a new series, I couldn’t help but to take the near-death experiences my Weird Girls characters endured one step further and into death itself.
According to Irish and Scottish beliefs Death takes on many forms, from hounds who carry those who perish in the Highlands into the Afterlife, to the skeletal hooded figure who claims your soul with a strike of his scythe. Death scared me. It also fascinated me. I pondered what if Death was more than simply fascinating? What if Death was just plain hot?
Without giving too much away, enter Ryker, a form of Death who has stalked the world for far too long. He’s wounded and deprived of peace, competing with other versions of Death who escaped Fae for the souls of the living on Earth. When Death comes, it’s tragic. There’s fear and pain. But there’s also hope. Don’t forget, for Death to walk among us, there must first be Life.
In UNEARTHED, Life takes the shape of a pixie from New Jersey.
Big, colorful hair, and more pink shoes than any Fae or human should need, Olivia is the sparkle when the lights go out and Death comes to claim you. Life and Death shouldn’t get along. They are rivals, extremes from one side of the spectrum to the other. So, when they talk, when they fight, only the best dialogue must exist. And the best dialogue for these two opposites is banter.
I’m known for the banter between friend and foe. Olivia and Ryker are a little of both and I love them for it. Ryker would be too serious without Olivia, and without the hurt that often accompanies Life, Olivia simply wouldn’t be the same. She wouldn’t carry the spirit she needs to protect her kind from genocide, and she wouldn’t be strong enough for what’s to come.
Fae was once a flourishing paradise. Until
Death turned greedy and destroyed it, targeting the creatures who inhabited it.
Those who survived escaped to Earth’s realm, but Death wasn’t far behind . . .
Olivia Finn is just another pixie trying to blend in among humans and hide from the death hounds who devoured her family. Clinging to the talisman that keeps her veiled from those who hunt her, she believes she is safe. . .. Until Death finds her and discovers she’s immune to its grip.
Now that Olivia’s power is unearthed, she is sought by Fae who see her as their savior and stalked by dark entities compelled to destroy her. Can she trust the King of the Dead who has sworn to train and protect her? Or should she obey her instincts that warn he desires more?
Olivia can no longer hide from Death. To survive, she must seek it.
I hope I sparked enough interest so you may give UNEARTHED a chance.
